Edwin S. Parks

Edwin S. Parks, son of William and Emma Mudgett Parks, was born July 11, 1907 in Ottumwa and died Nov. 21, 1982 in Tucson, Ariz., at the age of 76. On May 23, 1932 he married Evelyn Wiley of Douds in Lancaster, Mo. He was a retired Burlington railroad conductor and had owned and operated Ottumwa Granite and Monument Co. before moving to Arizona.

He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, the Eagles Lodge, American Legion, Brotherhood of Trainmen and Burlington Northern Veterans Chapter 11. Remaining are his wife, a daughter, Beatrice Swanson of Tucson, a son George Parks of Ottumwa, four grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted in Tucson. Interment of the cremated remains and graveside serves were Saturday, Dec. 11, 1982 at 10 a.m. in Leando Cemetery at Douds, with Dr. Chris Daniel officiating. Arrangements were in charge of Pedrick Funeral Home. A memorial was established for St. Paul Methodist Church, 8051 E. Broadway, Tucson, Ariz. 86710.
