Ray Duncan
Ray Leslie Duncan, 88, of rural Bonaparte, died at 2:40 a.m. Sunday, July 10, 2005, at the Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua.
Born Feb. 19, 1917, in Hillsboro, he was the son of Elbert Noah and LaNora Haynes Duncan. On Oct. 15, 1941, he married Katherine Roberta Fixsalat in Kahoka, Mo. She preceded him in death.
Mr. Duncan worked as a carpenter and farmer.
He was a World War II Navy veteran. He was a member of the Bonaparte United Church, the Rural Electric Cooperative and Farm Bureau.
Survivors include two grandchildren, Tyler Duncan of Bonaparte and Jessie Duncan of Farmington; one brother, Lawrence Duncan of Mount Pleasant; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter and three brothers.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Hofbauer–Schmitz–Lynk Funeral Home in Farmington, where the family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday.
Funeral services for Mr. Duncan will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Paul Rekward officiating. Burial will be in Greenglade Cemetery at Farmington, with full military rites by the Farmington American Legion
