MRS. FERN A. DOUTHART

Mrs. Fern A. Douthart, 86, of Bonaparte, died at 12:51 p.m. Wednesday, December 8, in the Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua.

Mrs. Douthart was born December 20, 1895, at Winfall, Indiana. She was a lifelong resident of the Fairfield and Bonaparte areas.

On November 29, 1913, at Medicine Lodge, Kansas, she was married to Fred S. Douthart, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by three sons, Ralph of Floris, Iowa, Kenneth and Courtland, both of Bonaparte; two daughters, Helen Puffinbarger of Birmingham, and Delores House of Glendive, Montana; a sister Rosi Randall of Sawyer, Kansas; 28 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by three sons, two daughters and two grandchildren. Her parents were Louis and Alma Trible Platt.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 11, 1982, in the Bonaparte Baptist Church with the Rev. Clyde Lint and Bob Dodds officiating. Burial was in the Bonaparte Cemetery.

A memorial has been established. Contributions may be made at the Hofbauer Funeral Home.
