CRAWFORD SKAGGS

Lifetime Birmingham resident, Crawford H. Skaggs, 86, died April 8, 1982 in Jefferson County Hospital, Fairfield.

A retired farmer, he was born October 28, 1895, in Hodgensville, Ky., to James Skaggs and Elizabeth Thomas Skaggs. He married Emmaline Peplow on June 28, 1916, in Mason City, Ill. He was a cream hauler and inspector and member of the Free Methodist Churh.

Survivors: his wife; sons Lyle and Jim of Fairfield and Howard and Bill of Birmingham, daughters Katherine Pfeifer and Dora McWhirter of Birmingham and Wilda Booth of Fairfield; 20 grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 11, 1982, the Revs. Walter VanderLinden & Morton Stephens officiating. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery.
