Mary Ann Humphryes was born April 20, 1838, in London, England, and died May 28, 1903, aged sixty-five years, one month, and 28 days.

She removed to America with her family in 1845 and settled in Lee county. She moved from there to Bonaparte where she was married to William P. Chapman November 29, 1858. To them were born nine children of whom four are dead. Robert, Philip, William, and Julia reside here and Mrs. Maria Core of Capron, Oklahoma.

She has one brother Henry V., and sister, Mrs. Lizzie Rhadestock of Bonaparte. There are also four grandchildren to mourn their loss.

The funeral services were held Sunday June 1, conducted by Rev. Duty and the remains were interred in the Bonaparte cemetery.
