HOWARD G. STEEPLES

Howard G. Steeples, 67, of Bonaparte, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 1981 at 4:46 p.m. in Van Buren Co. Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua. His death was unexpected.

The son of Albert W. and Anna Mary Kerr Steeples, he was born March 20, 1913 at Farmington

He married Pauline E. Troutman on Sept. 17, 1939 at Memphis, Mo. and she survives.

For 21 years he lived on the same farm near Bonaparte and owned and operated Troutman Auction Sale.

In addition to his widow, he is survived by one son, James Howard at home; two daughters, Mary Ann Steeples, Des Moines, and Tamara Nitzschke of Specer; two sisters, Helen Elder of Keokuk and Hazel Hawke of Farmington; three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.

The funeral was held Sunday, Feb. 22, at 2 p.m. in the United Methodist Church, Farmington. The Reverends Jim Rozendall and Kenneth Harden officiated. Burial was in the Bonaparte cemetery. A memorial was established for an agriculture scholarship fund for a Harmony student.
