Gladys Irene Cummings Troutman, 90, of Bonaparte, died at the Van Buren County Hospital.

She was born to Arthur and Juanita Clark Cummings. On October 17, 1934, she married Elmer George Troutman in Memphis, Missouri. He died October 17, 1965.

Mrs. Troutman worked for her dad at Cummings Grocery and Meat Market from 1930 to 1934 and again during World War II. She also farmed with her husband.

She was a member of Bonaparte United Church. She taught Sundy school at the former Bonaparte Presbyterian Church and she served as secretary of the Jay Bird and Hickory schools. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, baking, traveling, and genealogy.

Survivors include daughter, Carole Jean of Bonaparte; son, Gerald Lee "Bud" of Bonaparte; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.

Graveside services were held with the Rev. Paul Rekward officiating.
