Ruth Younker

Mary Ruth Younker, daughter of Leroy and Arta Dorson Billheimer, was born February 28, 1921 in Des Moines Township, Van Buren County, and died the afternoon of Thursday, January 26, 1989 at University Hospital, Iowa City, at the age of 67.

She graduated from Milton High School and lived most of her life in the Milton community. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Russell-Strait Unit of the American Legion Auxiliary, and was President of the Milton Library Board.

She married Donald Younker August 30, 1941 at Kahoka, Mo.

Surviving are her husband of Milton, two daughters, Judy Archer and her husband, Larry, of Cantril and Betty Jo Shaddy and her husband, Jack of Oak Harbor, Washington, and four grandchildren, Tracy Strang, Kirk Archer, and Dawn and Michael Shaddy. Also surviving are two brothers, Richard Billheimer, Greenville, Mo. and Harold Billheimer in Texas, a sister, Eileen Kennedy in Texas, other relatives and friends. A brother, Arthur Billheimer and an infant brother preceded her in death.

Graveside services were held Monday, January 30, 1989 at 11 A.M. in Sunnyside Cemetery, Milton, with Rev. Andrew Rubenking officiating. Memorials were established for her church and the Milton Public Library. Arrangements were in charge of Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua.
