WISBEY, MCINTIRE, MORGAN, WILSON, LEWMAN

ELDRED H. WISBEY

Eldred H. "Sooner" Wisbey, son of Harry L. "Buck" and Ruth "Sally" Mc Intire Wisbey, was born November 29, 1912 at Carman, Illinois and departed this life the morning of Wednesday, April 1, 1992 at Burlington Medical Center at the age of 79.

He married Dorothy Morgan, February 23, 1939 in Burlington. They farmed in the Terre Haute, Illinois area, moved to a farm near Milton, Iowa in 1955, and retired to Milton in 1974. The Wisbeys had been residing in Maple Leaf Healthcare Center in Mt. Pleasant since September, 1991. He was active in the communities he lived through sports, schools, churches and agricultural related organizations. He had served as Secretary of the Van Buren County Fair Board, had been an ASCS township and county committeeman, a 4-H leader and a member of Farm Bureau.

Remaining to cherish his memory are his wife, Dorothy, a son, Robert and his wife, Karen, Buffalo Grove, Illinois, a daughter Jane Wilson and her husband, Richard, Danville, five grandchildren, Douglas Wisbey, Susan Wisbey Smith, and Jan Wisbey, all of the Chicago area, Mary Ann Lewman, Mt. Pleasant and Neal Wilson, Danville, and a great grandson, Brandon Lewman. Also surviving are a brother, Gene, Kingman, Arizona, several cousins, nieces and nephews, along with a host of Iowa and Illinois friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 4, 1992 at 2 p.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with Rev. Jerry Allsup officiating. Interment was in Sunnyside Cemetery, Milton.

Memorials were established for the Milton Public Library and Milton Avenue of Flags.
