Dorothy M. Wisbey

Dorothy M. Wisbey, 77, formerly of Milton, died Nov. 19, 1992 at the Danville Care Center in Danville, where she had been living since August of 1992.

She was born Aug. 17, 1915 in Terre Haute, Ill. to George and Lula Shaw Morgan. She married Eldred H. "Sooner" Wisbey on Feb. 23, 1939 in Burlington. He died Apr. 1, 1992.

The Wisbeys farmed in the Terre Haute, Ill. area and moved to a farm near Milton in 1955 and retired to Milton in 1974.

She was a member of the Milton United Methodist Women, Go and Chatter Club, Federated Women's Club and Top Hat Card Club in Milton and the Thursday Club in Terre Haute, Ill. She served for many years as leader of Milton Busy Bees 4-H Club and was a member of the Van Buren County 4-H Youth Committee and had been Superintendent of the Women's Open Class Division of the Van Buren County Fair. She was a Cancer survivor, having lived more than seven years since her original diagnosis.

Survivors include a son, Robert of Buffalo Grove, Ill.; a daughter, Jane Wilson of Danville; five grandchildren; a great-grandson, and a brother George Morgan of Monticello, Ill.
