Elizabeth Ann Wandel, 67, died June 29, 1977, at the Davis County Hospital where she had entered as a patient 24 hours earlier.

Nan, as she was known to all her family, friends and neighbors, was born on March 3, 1910, in Milton, Iowa, to Muriel Connell and George Sherman Wandel.

Nan graduated from the Milton Public School and took nurses training at the St. Joseph Hospital in Ottumwa, Iowa. She worked in the hospital in Iowa City, Iowa, as a registered nurse. She lived 40 years in Chicago, Illinois, where she was supervisor or better known as industrial nurse for 30 years for the Common Wealth Edison company.

She was a member of the Eastern Star Lodge, Carr Chapter No. 10 in Milton, also a member of the Milton Christian Church, where she was a very ardent worker.

The past three years she has been chairman of the Memorial Day Dinner, which is held each year at the Milton School Building to support the Sunnyside Cemetery Association.

Nan was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, George, and one sister, Pauline Easton, of Chicago, Illinois. She was survived by one sister, Cleo, of Milton and one nephew, Jack Oneal, of Chicago, Illinois, and many friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 1, 1977, in the Milton Christian Church with Rev. Richard Falletti in charge of the services. Organ music was presented by Mrs. Nola Wilson.

Pallbearers were Robert Gooden, M.W. Roberts, Bill Strait, Paul McBratney, Gerald "Shorty" Augspurger and Paul Wells.

Burial was in the Sunnyside Cemetery at Milton, Iowa.

The Wellborn Funeral Home at Milton had charge of funeral arrangements.
