MRS. A. G. LAZENBY
Willa Eugenia Masson, youngest child of Mrs. Eliza Masson and the late Eugene Masson, was born on April 15th, 1881, on the home farm near Keosauqua, Iowa. On October 18, 1903, she was married to John W. Clemens, who died May 9, 1911. On the 26th of March, 1919, Mrs. Clemens was married to Albert G. Lazenby. About three weeks ago Mrs. Lazenby became ill, but her sickness was not considered serious until near noon, Monday, August 20, when she suddenly became worse and at 1:30 Tuesday morning, Aug. 21, 1923, her spirit quietly slipped away at the home of her mother, to which she had been moved during her illness, where she was lovingly cared for.
Mrs. Lazenby received her education in the public schools and was a good musician. All her life was spent in the same neighborhood, where her sunny, happy disposition won her hosts of friends. She had been a member of the Congregational church at Keosauqua since early girlhood.
She leaves to mourn their loss, her husband, her aged mother, her brother Edward and wife on the home farm; two sisters, Mrs. C. P. Whitney and Mrs. George A. Prall, of Keosauqua; one niece, Mrs. James H. Addison of Omaha, Nebraska, four stepchildren and other distant relatives and many, many friends.
Sunset and evening star
And one clear call for me,
And may there be no mourning at the ba[?]
When I put out to sea.
Twilight and evening bell[?]
And, after that, the dark,
And may there be no sadness of farewell
When I embark. ----TennysonFuneral services were held at the home of her mother, Mrs. Masson, Wednesday, August 22, at 2 p. m., Rev. J. C. Caughlan, pastor of the M. E. church at Keosauqua, officiating. Burial at Oak Lawn Cemetery.
We wish to express our thanks to our neighbors and friends for their kindness and sympathy for the loss of our dear wife, daughter and sister.
