LURAH MAY METCALF, 75, of rural Center Point, a longtime resident of the Urbana and Center point areas, passed away at 1:25 P.M. Wednesday, July 24, 1985 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, following a lengthy illness. She was born the daughter of William and Hattie Oldridge Reece on August 17, 1909 at Troy Mills, Iowa. On August t17, 1933 at Independence, Iowa, she was married to Forrest Metcalf. Mrs. Metcalf had been employed at St. Luke's Hospital until her retirement in 1971 and was a member of Hillside Wesleyan Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Marlin Metcalf of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her mother, Hattie Reece of Cedar Rapids; and four brothers, Marvin Reece of Austin, Texas, Vernon Reece of Quasqueton, Marion Reece of Cedar Rapids and Raymond Reece of Toddville. She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Edwin.

SERVICES: 10:30 A.M> Saturday, July 27, 1985 at the Hillside Wesleyan Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Conducted by: Rev. Richard Ernst and Rev. Jon Elsberry. Organist: Sara Ernst. Vocalists: Jerry Vonderheide and Wanda Church. Bearers: Donald Graham, Ron Hall, Bob Just, Larry Statler, Hank Swalley and Norm Toland. Interment: Circle Grove Cemetery, north of Troy Mills. Committal services conducted by: Rev. Kenneth Mostue.
