Cecil R. Miller

Cecil R. Miller, 69, of Lebanon, died at 5:45 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 22, 1984 at Jefferson County Hospital. He had become ill a short time before at his home.

Services are set for 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Lebanon United Methodist Church, with Rev. Harold Harryman officiating.

Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery north of Martinsburg. Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield was in charge of arrangements. A memorial has been established to 4-H awards.

Miller was born Aug. 6, 1915 in Jefferson County, the son of Ralph and Harriett Day Miller, and spent his entire life in Jefferson and Van Buren Counties. He married Margaret (Peg) Mellott on Dec. 24, 1935. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Darlene McQuoid of Keosauqua, Donna Peterson of Maysville; two sons, Denis of Keosauqua, Dean of Milton; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Cora Raymond of Fairfield; two brothers, Jake Miller of Selma and Keith of Wilmington, N.C. His parents and one sister preceded him in death.

Miller was a member of Lebanon Methodist Church and the owner of The Lebanon Store. He was also very active in 4-H work in Van Buren County.
