Carl Miller

Carl Albert Miller, 95 Tripoli, died Jan. 27, 1993 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.

He was born November 24, 1897 in Martell, Nebr., the son of Wm. John and Lillie Sonneman Miller. He was baptized at the German Methodist Church at Centerville, Neb. Confimation was learned in the German language.

He went to school in rural Martell, Neb., and began his farming occupation with his father. He married Edna Marie Frohn on Aub. 20, 1924 at the home of Edna's parents. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Haxton, Colo., where he did wheat farming and ran a thrashing crew using a steam engine and horses. They came back to Nebraska and then moved to Pulaski and later to Milton where he continued diversified farming. They retired to Milton in 1956.

He was a member of the Pulaski School Board for many years and was active in Pulaski, Milton and Tripoli churches throughout his life. They moved to Tripoli in July of 1989. He had been currently residing at the Bremer Care Facility.

Survivors include two sons; Stanley of Tripli and Loren of Holcomb, Kan.; a daughter, Vera Welty of Dowes; nine grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; six sisters, Esther of Lincoln, Neb., Lilliam of Gibbon, Neb., Helen of Lincoln, Neb., Mabel of Royal, Neb., Mildred and Florence both of Lincoln, Neb.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna, in 1992, his parents and one sister, Lorine.

Memorial services were held Feb. 2, 1993 at the Faith United Church of Christ in Tripoli.
