Robert H. McLeland

Robert H. McLeland, 77, of Douds died at 6:45 a.m. Nov. 13, 1986 in Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

He was born July 26, 1909 in Palisade, Nebr., to Harvey and Ida Starr McLeland. He married Madeline Hopp March 7, 1934, in Keota.

He lived in the Cantril-Milton area until moving to Douds in 1972. He farmed and house-painted and for the past 20 years he and his wife operated the Douds Cafe. He was a member of Starlight Lodge 350 K. of P. in Douds and Cantril Lions Club.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Robert Ray of Mt. Pleasant, Kenneth Joe of Ft. Madison; nine grandchildren and a sister, Edna Robinson of Milton.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Faye.

The service was held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, 1986 at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, the Rev. Stephen Conte officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery in Cantril. Memorials have been established to Christ United Methodist Church.
