George McEldowney

George McEldowney, 85, Milton, died at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday at the Elma View Care Center in Burlington.

He was born July 25, 1894 in Scotland County, Mo. to William and Kathryn Morgan McEldowney. He was affiliated with the Christian Church, was a veteran of World War I and a member of the VFW and the American Legion.

He married Faye Holton on June 27, 1917. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include one daughter, Opal Allen of Burlington; one son, Marion of Milton; four granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Myra Newland of Cantril, and Mrs. Metta Sullivan of Bloomfield.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Cantril Christian Church, conducted by the Rev. Jerry Caughron. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery at Cantril. The body is at the Priester Funeral Chapel in Milton.

A memorial has been established to the Cancer fund.
