CLARA LOOMIS

Clara Elizabeth Kritzman, daughter of John Winfield and Elizabeth Weiss Kritzman, was born September 15, 1897 near Lebanon in Van Buren County, Iowa. She passed away at the Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua, on December 5, 1981 at the age of 84 years.

In September 1945 she was united in marriage to Max Loomis in Ottumwa. He passed away in October 1954.

She was long affiliated with the Methodist Church and attended her first Sunday School in the Lebanon Church as it stood where the cemetery is now. She was a member of the Milton United Methodist Church. They lived in Milton where she retired as telephone operator after giving 20 years of faithful and dedicated service. She had a special interest in flowers and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Wallace and Elmer, four sisters, Hannah, Mabel, Alma and Edith.

Surviving are a nephew, Robert Shobe of Milton, six nieces, Elizabeth Blount and Helen Hoy of Ottumwa, Margaret Kritzman of Upland, Calif. Shirley Schwartz of Ottumwa, Lois Johnson of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Mary Sue Salmon of Moline, Ill.; several great nieces and great-great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 7th at the Lebanon United Methodist Church with the Rev. Harold Harryman officiating. Burial was in Levanon Cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Wagler Funeral Home, Bloomfield.

She was a good aunt and her nephew and nieces have many happy memories of childhood vacations spent with her.
