Leo Harvey Law

Leo Harvey Law, son of Valorous and Hattie Bishop Law was born in Troy on May 18, 1907 and died May 8, 1965 at the Davis County Hospital after a short illness at the age of 57 years, 11 months and 20 days.

Law was a lifelong resident of Davis County with the exception of five years spent in Van Buren County. He attended school at Troy and was formerly a farmer. He was employed at the Troy Produce at the time of his death.

He married Clara Ann Zietler on Nov. 26, 1924. They were the parents of four children.

Law was a member of the Troy Methodist church.

Survivors include the widow; three daughters, Mrs. Lillian Ritz of Bloomfield, Mrs. Iva Dell Roberts of Selma and Mrs. Lovetta Jarvis of Keosauqua; eight grandchildren; and four sisters, Mrs. Hazel Richardson of Milton, Mrs. Audrey Jogerst of Joplin, Mo., Mrs. Lora Erhardt of Bloomfield and Mrs. Verl Spilman of Bloomfield.

He was preceded by his parents; one son, Richard; two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were held May 10, 1965 at the Wagler Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Samuel Bowser. Burial was in the Troy Cemetery.

Mrs. Dale Hendricks, accompanied by Miss Sheryl Wintermote at the organ, sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "God's Sweet Bye and Bye."

Pallbearers were Vern Chaplin, George Luke, Vern Lagle, Kenneth Gardner, James Ensminger and William Balmer.
