Lloyd Lee Lancaster

Lloyd Lee Lancaster, well known businessman passed away at 3:10 p.m. March 3, 1986, at his home in Memphis. He was 81 years of age.

Lloyd was born six miles northwest of Memphis, on May 15, 1904, the son of William H. and Blanche Crotinger Lancaster. He spent his entire life in Scotland County with the exception of two of his teenage years in Kansas.

He was united in marriage January 4, 1928, to Ella Mae Arnold and to this union three children were born.

Survivors include his wife, Mae; son, Paul and wife, Molly, of Arbela, Missouri; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Helen Simpson and husband Charles of Versailles, Missouri, and Mrs. Shirley Mae Eggleston and husband Max, of Memphis, Missouri; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Albert, Memphis, Missouri, and Alfred and Ft. Madison, Iowa; two aunts, several nieces and nephews and a great host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Buford, one infant grandson and one great-grandson.

Lloyd was a 1925 graduate of the Iowa Barber College in Des Moines, Iowa, and was a licensed barber for 60 years.

He confirmed his faith in Jesus Christ in 1930, joining the First United Methodist Church in Memphis. He remained an active member until his death.

He enjoyed and took great pride in being able to held others and was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, a lover of sports, fine bird dogs, which he raised and trained and an ardent hunter and fisherman.

Services were held Wednesday, March 5, 1986, 1:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Memphis. The Rev. J. Brent Mustoe officiated.

Burial was in the Memphis Cemetery.
