Rose Ella Lancaster

Rose Ella Fryrear Lancaster was born February 24, 1879, in Scotland County, Missouri, and passed away November 8, 1973, at Scotland County Memorial Hospital. She was the oldest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Tom Fryrear, being nine children in the family, namely Charley, Will, Frank, Ella, Edd, Minnie, Evert, Louie and Ethel.

She was united in marriage to Crawford H. Lancaster on September 14, 1898, at the home of her parents, near Crawford Station on Wednesday at 12 o'clock noon. Rev. W.C. Trent of Crawford Station officiating. To this union three children were born, namely Voleta June, Alva Jefferson and Imogene.

She claimed her Savior when she was 17 years old in a revival at Crawford Station, never changing her membership.

Those preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Crawford H. Lancaster, died August 6, 1949; four brothers; one sister; one granddaughter; one great-great-grandson.

Those who survive are three children, June Campbell, Alva Lancaster, Memphis, Missouri; Imogene Cooley, Monmouth, Illinois; one daughter-in-law, Leota Lancaster; two brothers, Frank Fryrear, Seattle, Washington, Louie Fryrear, Redford, South Dakota; one sister, Ethel Rein, Memphis, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Frank Fryrear and Mrs. Louie Fryrear; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held in the Gerth & Baskett Chapel, Memphis, Missouri, on Sunday, November 11, 1973, 2:00 p.m. Len Camp officiated. Burial was in the Friendship Cemetery. Body bearers were Raymond Campbell, Kenneth Campbell, Mearl Cooley, Larry Campbell, Eugene Dial, and Denny Taylor.
