Jean Lancaster, 49, the daughter of Glen and Vita June Gristy Hyde, was born January 26, 1924, and passed away May 26, 1973, at the Davis County Hospital, following an illness of several months.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Waibel, and her husband, Garland, two grandchildren, Sean and Shani of Memphis; her father, Glen Hyde of Memphis; one sister, Mrs. Marcine Evans of Memphis; five brothers, James of Clarksville, Tennessee, Bob of Weippe, Idaho, Donald of Kahoka, Missouri, William Joseph of Kirksville, Missouri, and Richard of Quincy, Illinois. She also leaves three step-sons and two step-daughters.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Robert; her mother and one step-son.

She was employed for many years by DeRosear Flower and Gift Shop.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 28, at Payne's Chapel. Father Thomas Dolan officiated and burial was in the Brock Cemetery. Body bearers were Dwight DeRosear, Bob Ross, Clark Mustoe, Harlo l. Donelson, D.D.S., Gary Hyde, and Lealand Dorsey.
