William G. Johnson

William G. Johnson, 87, of Memphis, Missouri, passed away in his home Friday morning, February 11, 983. He was born February 4, 1896, in Eldon, Iowa, the son of William W. and Laura Butler Johnson.

On August 2, 1929, he married Mary Davault who preceded him in death August 26, 1961. Also preceding him in death were three brothers, Harley, Harry, and John Johnson, and three sisters, Nannie Bechtel, Luella Harmon and Agness Johnson.

Surviving is one brother, Patrick Johnson of Sioux City, Iowa, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, February 13, 1983, at 2:30 p.m. from the Payne-Gerth Chapel in Memphis, with the Rev. Kenneth Campbell officiating. Interment was in the Union Cemetery. Pallbearers were Guy Gardine, Dick Johnson, Kenneth Eggleston, Walt Marlow, Junior Snodgrass, and Bill Ransford. Organist was Ann Luther and soloist Guy Gardine.
