Carl Lue Jackson

Carl Lue Jackson born Sept. 23, 1901 to William Asbury and Betty Bales Jackson in Phillips County, Kansas. One of 10 children. He died at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Ia., July 6, 1987. When a young man he was converted to Christ. he was affiliated with Midway Calvary Baptist Church.

Being a farmer most of his life, he also was an inspector for road grading, church custodian, worked for the railroad and the Citizens Mutual Telephone Company.

He married Lee Ola Georgia Lough Dec. 1, 1926. To this union was born 2 daughters Helen Carlene Sample, Bloomfield, Ia., Thelma Irene Morse, West Burlington, Ia., 1 son, Carl Leland Jackson, West Burlington, Ia. He is survived by his children, son-in-law, Ralph Sample, daughter-in-law, Maxine Jackson, grandsons and wives, Kenneth and Mable Sample, Carl and Bondeena Sample, Larry and Joyce Sample, David and Kathy Sample, Ronald and Candi Sample all of Bloomfield, Daniel and Timothy Morse, West Burlington, 15 great-grandchildren, 1 brother and his wife, Dewey and Reva Jackson, Burlington, Colorado, 1 sister, Daisy Young of Stratton, Colo., and sister-in-law, Marie Jackson of Franklin, Nebraska.

Also many nieces and nephews. He was later married to Mary Inskeep Cruikshank.

Funeral services were July 10, 1987. Burial in IOOF Cemetery.
