Harley F. Ives, 86, of 1212 English Boulevard, Marion, died Thursday morning at the Willow Gardens Care Center, Marion, following a long illness.

He was born Dec. 10, 1897 near Marion. On Oct. 15, 1919, he married Louis Goldberry in Marion.

Mr. Ives farmed east of Marion until 1939 when he moved into town. He was employed by the John Deere Farm Store in Cedar Rapids, until retiring in 1959.

He also was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Marion Lodge 6 AF & AM, Cedar Rapids Consistory and El Kahir Shrine.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Jeanne Beeson and Mary Gill, both of Marion; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Murdoch Funeral Home, Marion, by the Rev. Nick Longworth Masonic services will be conducted by Marion Lodge 6 AF & AM. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. All Master Masons are requested to meet at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Saturday. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.
