Nellie G. Humphrey

Nellie G. Humphrey, 78, daughter of John and Ruth Prosser Baker, was born January 12, 1902, in Knox County, Missouri, and passed away May 29, 1980, in the Scotland County Memorial Hospital, Memphis, Mo.

May 11, 1923, in Knox County, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Virgil Humphrey and to this union two sons were born.

She is survived by her son, Carey Humphrey, of Geneseo, Illinois; one brother, George W. Baker of Edina, Missouri; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one son, Elmo.

She was a member of the First Christian Church.

Funeral services were conducted by Payne Gerth Saturday, May 31, 1980, from Payne-Gerth Funeral Chapel, Memphis, missouri(typo). The Rev. Kenneth Campbell officiated. Burial was in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Knox County, Missouri. Body bearers were Basil Humphrey, John Baker, Bill Baker, Stanley Humphrey, Elton Emel and Danny Emel.
