Ethel Hunter

Lulu Ethel Hunter, 93, the daughter of Walter and Martha Talbott Cone was born February 14, 1892, in Scotland County, Missouri. She passed away February 20, 1985, in the Scotland County Memorial Nursing Home.

She was united in marriage to Howard A. Hunter, March 19, 1916, at Milton, Iowa. To this marriage two children were born.

Ethel is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Estelyne Louder of Memphis, Missouri, and her son, Donald Wayne Hunter and wife, Loviece, of Brunswick, Missouri; on grandson, Bill Rush; one step-grandson; one step-granddaughter; six step-great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, and one grandchild.

Ethel attended Scotland County School and graduated from Kirksville Normal. She taught school for ten years in Scotland County and in Iowa. She lived in the Cone neighborhood on the home farm until 1960 when she moved to Memphis.

funeral services were held Saturday, February 23, 1985, at 1:30 p.m. in the Payne-Gerth Chapel, Memphis, Missouri. The Rev. Brent Mustoe officiated. Organist was Ann Luther and Kenneth Campbell was soloist. The body bearers were Robert W. Shelley, Basil Humphrey, Donald Hyde, Donald Shelley, LaVerne Harris, and John Johnson. Burial was in the Memphis Cemetery.
