He married Florence Baldwin on Nov. 22, 1928, in Greeley, Colo.
He is survived by his wife; four daughters, Shirley Baxter of Fort Madison, Joanne Evans of Burlington, Susan Nelson of East Moline, Ill., and Sandra Hainline of Bonaparte; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
The service was at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Milton United Methodist Church, The Revs. Charles and Marilyn Butler officiating. Burial had graveside military rites at Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton.
The casket was taken to the church at 10 a.m. Wednesday and closed at the beginning of the service.
Wagler Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
