SUSIE M. HOLLAND

Susie M. Holland was born February 10, 1899 to Perry and Frances Holland on a farm south of Milton. She graduated from Milton High School with the Class of 1916.

She taught in the grades at Milton before moving to Chariton, Iowa with her mother in 1920. She taught in the Chariton school system for 40 years retiring in 1960. In December of 1970 she moved to the Wesley Acres Retirement Home in Des Moines where she lived until her death Thursday morning, Sept. 23. She leaves to mourn her death several nieces and nephews and a cousin John Holland of Lee's Summitt, Mo. Graveside were held at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Ottumwa Monday morning, Sept. 27 at 11 o'clock.
