SAMUEL HARBIN

Samuel Harbin was born at Rushville, Indiana, December 7, 1848, and departed this life at his home in Mt. Sterling, Iowa, March 19th, 1924, aged 75 years, 3 months and 12 days.

He was united in marriage to Florence Duncan, January 22, 1874. The first few years of their married life was spent near Milton, later removing to Nebraska where they resided five years, then coming to Mt. Sterling in 1902 where he had since made his home.

For the past two years he had been in failing health but bore his suffering patiently and without complaint.

Mr. Harbin was of a kindly and retiring disposition, congenial and energetic and was held in high esteem in the community where he has so long resided. He is survived by his devoted wife, two sons, Orie, of Gideon, Mo.; Glen, of Lena, Ill.; and one daughter, Mrs. Chloe Thomas, of Keosauqua, Iowa; and four grandchildren, one half sister, Mrs. F. E. Bradley, and one half brother, Mr. Willis Harbin, both of Milton, Iowa, who with a host of friends mourn his passing.

Funeral services in charge of Rev. Sawtell, were held at the M. E. church Friday afternoon. Burial in Harness cemetery.
