Great-Granddaughter of H.O. Davis Couple Killed In Car Mishap
Mr. and Mrs. H.O. Davis of Milton have received word of the death of their great-granddaughter, Doris Lee, age 11, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Taylor of East Moline, Ill., when she was struck by a car Wednesday evening, Oct. 30. She was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
Her death occurred when Doris and a girl friends were going across a street to a store to buy material for their Halloween costumes. Her friend stayed on the curbing but Doris reportedly darted out in front of an on-coming car and was hit.
She is survived by her parents; one sister; two brothers; her grandmother, Mrs. Louetha George of East Moline and her great-grandparents, mr. and Mrs. Davis of Milton.
Due to ill health, Mr. and Mrs. Davis were unable to attend the funeral services. Burial was at Yates City, Ill.
