Cowles funeral held

Funeral services were held Sunday for David C. Cowles, 93, who died at 7:10 a.m. Friday at the Davis County Hospital following a lengthy illness.

The funeral was conducted at the Pulaski Mennonite Church by the Rev. S. Roy Kaufman. Burial was in the Pulaski Cemetery. The Wagler Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He was born Nov. 7, 1879 in Lee County to John W. and Mary Paisley Cowles. He had been a resident of Davis County and Pulaski for 58 years and was affiliated with the Pulaski Mennonite Church.

He married Emma L. Slonaker on March 28, 1903 in Davis County.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Doris Widmer of Bloomfield, Mrs. Edith Sherman of Milton and Mrs. Lela Payne of Pulaski; one brother, Edward of Pulaski; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

His wife died in 1965. One grandson and two sisters also preceded him in death.
