LUZON HOWELL COOMBS

Luzon Howell Coombs died at her home in Des Moines, Iowa on July 29, 1990.

Luzon was born in Milton to Mr. and Mrs. W.Y. Howell in 1903. She graduated from Milton High School in 1921. After two years at Drake University she taught the 7th grade in Milton for two years, then taught in Alta two or three years. She was married to Claude Coombs, then moved to Des Moines where she was a librarian with the Des Moines Public Library for 27 years. She was a member of the Milton Christian Church.

Surviving are her husband and a sister, Elizabeth Figge of New Sharon. Funeral services were held August 1 at Merle Hay Funeral Home, with entombment in Merle Hay Mausoleum.
