WILBUR COOK

Wilbur Cook, 84, of Fairfield Route 3 died at 12:35 a.m. June 8, 1992 at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

He was born Feb. 28, 1908, in Richland Township in Keokuk County to Raymond and Stella Reighard Cook. He married Marguerite Bradley on January 1, 1929 in Fairfield.

He grew up in the Richland and Rubio communities. He moved to Jefferson County in 1920, and later to Davis County. He moved to Van Buren County where he met and married his wife. In 1931, they moved to Jefferson County. They farmed most of their married life south of Fairfield.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Donald of Iowa City, Charles W. "Bill" of Bettendorf and Larry Cook of Fairfield; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a sister, Wilda Smith.

He was preceded in death byv his parents and a brother, Wilford.

The service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 1992 at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield, the Rev. J.D. Boatman officiating. Burial was in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in Fairfield.
