CHILDRESS, KESSEL, EBERT, STEWART, WISBEY

Lee Childress, 82, died at 12:45 A.M. Wednesday, Oct. 5th at the Memphis Hospital in Memphis after a lingering illness. Visitation was Wednesday evening at Gerth and Baskett after which the body was taken to Lowell, Ind. Survivors include his widow, Eva Childress, two daughters, Mrs. Verna Kessel of Memphis and Mrs. Carlton (Jeanette) Ebert and two sons, Robert of Lowell, Ind. and Dean of Memphis, Mo., 20 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren, one sister and four brothers. He was preceeded in death by four sisters and three brothers. He spent all his life around Lowell, Ind. until 1970 when he moved to the Milton rural community. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Milton. Funeral services were held at Lowell Friday P.M. Those attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Ebert and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Childress and family of Memphis, Donna Ebert of Washington, D.C., Mr. and Mrs. James Stewart and family of Stubenville, Ind., Mrs. Verna Kessel and two daughters, one from Hammond, Ind. and the other from Beaumont, Texas, Robert and family and son from Kansas, and Mr. and Mrs. E.H. Wisbey.
