Eva M. Childress

Eva M. Childress, the daughter of Milton and Cora Wallace Hayden, was born November 8, 1897, in Grant Park, Illinois, and she passed away May 2, 1984, in the Scotland County Memorial Nursing Home, Memphis, Missouri. She was 86 years of age.

She was united in marriage to Lee Childress, February 21, 1917, in Grant Park, Illinois, and he passed away October 5, 1977.

Surviving are two sons, Robert of Lowell, Indiana and Dean of Memphis, Missouri; two daughters, Mrs. Verna Kessel of Memphis and Mrs. Carlton (Jeanette) Ebert of Milton, Iowa; 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Childress was a member of the Memphis Methodist Church, a former member of the Indian Trail Grange in Lowell, Indiana Royal Neighbors of Indiana and the Gleaners.

Services were held Saturday, May 5, 1984, 2:00 p.m. in the Sheets Funeral Home in Lowell, Indiana, the Rev. Ron Wilson officiated. Body bearers were grandsons. Burial was in the Lowell Cemetery, Lowell, Indiana. Arrangements by Payne-Gerth Funeral Chapel.
