Ruth Chadwick

Ruth Chadwick, 94, Bloomfield, died Jan. 24, 1990, at the Bloomfield Care Center.

She was born on Feb. 15, 1895, in Davis County, to Mart and Nellie Downing Christy.

She married Levi Chadwick on Sept. 12, 1915 on Sept. 12, 1915 in Troy. He died Dec. 23, 1983.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Bloomfield Christian Church.

She is survived by four sons, Martin Luther of Holiday Park, Fla., Carl Edward of Bloomfield, Robert Wade of Ottumwa and John Ralph of Glendale, Mo.; eight daughters, Doris Marie Spurgeon of Keosauqua, Mary Lee Lyons and Joyce Pence of Bloomfield, Alice Ruth Harder of Carlsborg, Wash., Nellie Jean Koehler of Burlington, Frances Joann Hunter of Seymour and Judith Rae and Jeanette Kay Chadwick of Muscatine; 23 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elsie Clendenen of Bloomfield.

She was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren; a brother and a sister.

Funeral services were held Jan. 27, 1990 at the Wagler Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Macy officiating. Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery.
