Elizabeth Forshee, daughter of Henry and Minerva Forshee, was born in Macon county, Mo. June 11th, 1810, and died at her home in Stiles, Iowa, Saturday, June 17th, 1899, aged 59 years and 6 days. She moved with her parents to Davis county, Iowa, when seven years old and was united in marriage to Isaac Brumley, March 29th, 1860. To this union was born four children, one son and three daughters, one daughter having preceded her to the better land. She was converted and joined with the M.E. church when 16 years old and lived a faithful life with Jesus until called home. For the last four years she has been in poor health, and was only confined to her bed the last week. She suffered greatly until Friday morning, (???) as daylight came she quietly passed away. She leaves her father, a husband and three children, Henry who lives at home, Mrs. May Bradbury, near Savannah, Mrs. Flora Harman, near Milton, and a large circle of friends to mourn her loss. The funeral was held from the M.E. Church Sunday, June, 18th, conducted by her pastor, Rev. H.C. Millice, who used for his text, Job, xiv, 14, "If a man die shall he live again," after which the remains were laid to rest in the Stiles cemetery.
