MR. ISAAC BRUMLEY

Isaac Brumley, son of John and Martha Brumley was born in Pike county, Ohio, April 15th, 1834, and after only one week's illness he departed this life August 31st, 1919, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Zoe Harmon near Milton, Iowa, where he has made his home for the past seven years.

He came with his parents to Davis county, Iowa, when 19 years of age, and with the exception of the past few years has resided continuously in the county.

In early life Mr. Brumley became a Christian and a member of the M.E. church, later removing his membership to the Methodist church of Stiles where he was a faithful and regular attendant for many years He was the third child of a family of 14 children, all of whom have preceded him in death, except two, one age sister and a younger brother.

In the year 1960 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Foshee. Four children were born to them, namely: Henry L. Brumley of Stiles, Minerva A., deceased, Mary E. Bradberry, of Bloomfield, Iowa, and Flora R. Harmon of Milton, also five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. His wife died twenty years ago. he was a good neighbor, a kind father, and a loving husband and was loved by both old and young alike. He is gone, but not forgotten.

Funeral services were held at Stiles September 1st, conducted by Rev. Overturf of the Bloomfield Baptist church, and Uncle Isaac, as he was familiarly known was tenderly laid beside his wife to await the final summons in that great day.
