John Henry Gable rites Friday

Services for John Henry Gable, 90, former Fairfield resident who died at 5:25 p.m. Friday at Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua, were held at 10 a.m. today at Behner (Fuenral) Home with the Rev. James Battey officiating. Burial was in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Memorials to Camp Courageous at Monticello may be left at the funeral home.

Gable was born June 5, 1897 in Baltimore, Md. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he had lived most of his life in Fairfield, where he worked at Loudens Machinery Company as a stationary engineer. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 15, AF and AM, and First Baptist Church.

Surviving is a son, Robert Gable, East Peoria, Ill.
