IVAN L. BISHOP

Ivan L. Bishop, 71, of Keosauqua died at 4:43 a.m. Sunday, August 27, 1995 at Van Buren County Hospital, Keosauqua.

He was born June 11, 1924 near Keosauqua to William and Anna Arnold Bishop. He married Joanne Hughes February 11, 1950 in the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Iowa.

He worked 38 years for Van Buren Telephone Co., Keosauqua, retiring in 1985 due to disability. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a member of Beer-Barker Post No. 113, American Legion, Keosauqua.

Surviving are his wife, two sons, Jerry Bishop and his wife, Teri and Joey, Bishop, Fairfield, three grandchildren, Matt, Brad and Beth Bishop, a sister, Evelyn Waldren, Keosauqua and a sister-in-law, Vivian Bishop, Corydon.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Gordon and Harold Bishop.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 30, 1995 at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, Rev. S. Gale Hawhee and Rev. Robert Gates officiating. Burial with military rites by Beer-Barker Posts 113 was in Lebanon Cemetery west of Keosauqua.

Memorials to the Keosauqua or Fairfield Little League baseball programs may be left at the funeral home.
