Percy F. Smith

The funeral service for Percy F. Smith, 68, of Fort Madison rural route 1, was held at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary's church, Fort Madison. The Rev. J.M. Macklin officiated. Burial was in the Gethsemane cemetery. The recitation of the Rosary was at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Nieters Chapel, Fort Madison.

Mr. Smith died at 7:55 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, in Sacred Heart hospital, Fort Madison.

He was born April 11, 1902, at Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Mr. Smith was a former resident of Farmington. He had lived in the Fort Madison area 44 years and was a farmer by occupation.

On Jan. 26, 1927, in St. Mary's church, Fort Madison, he married Agnes Wiggenjost, who survives. He was a member of St. Mary's church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two brothers, Harold Smith of Fairfield and Merle Smith of Farmington; and a sister, Mrs. Carl (Mary) Miller of Durant, Iowa.
