Mrs. James Sexton

Julia A. Sexton, 97, Douds, widow of James Sexton, died at 11:30 A.M. Friday, Dec. 11 at St. Joseph Hospital, Ottumwa. She had been a resident of Kirk Nursing Home in Agency the past 2 1/2 years and entered the hospital Friday morning.

The daughter of John and Julia Spillman Casey, she was born Mar. 8, 1873, in Douds. She was a lifetime resident of Van Buren County, with 64 years on the same farm south of Douds. On Nov. 9, 1898, she married Mr. Sexton. He died in 1939. Two sons and a daughter, two brothers and three sisters, also preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sons, Thomas of Douds and Joseph of West Liberty.

The Rosary was said Sunday at 8 P.M. at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 A.M. Monday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Eldon conducted by the Rev. D.L. Waldschmidt. Burial was in Eldon Cemetery.
