Mrs. George Saylor
Mrs. Anna V. Saylor, 78, of rural Milton, widow of George Saylor, died at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua. She had entered the hospital Sept. 26.
The daughter of Joseph and Sarah Crandall Pruitt, she was born Feb. 20, 1892, at Lewistown, Mo. On Jan. 10, 1912, she married Mr. Saylor at Keosauqua. They farmed in Van Buren and Davis counties, mostly in the Valley community between Troy and Douds. He died in 1963.
Surviving are a son, Ronald of Blakesburg; two daughters, Marguerite Luke of Douds and (Erma) Zeitler of Milton; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Viola Strait of Milton, Rilla Lemmons and Maggie Scott, both of Ottumwa.
The service will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds conducted by the Rev. Willis Grant, United Methodist pastor. Burial will be in the Troy Cemetery.
