Mrs. Doris L. McGuire

Mrs. Doris L. (Petit) McGuire, 56, Bonaparte, Iowa died at 1:05 Friday morning in the Graham hospital. She had been sick for the past three weeks.

The daughter of the late Sherman A. and Josie Belle Dixon Petit, she was born September 12, 1914 in Ames, Iowa.

She was married to Harve McGuire on February 23, 1937 in Ames, Iowa.

Mrs. McGuire, who was employed at the White Shopping Center, Bonaparte, had lived many years in Bonaparte.

She was a member of the Presbyterian church in Fairfield, Iowa.

Survivors include one son, LeRoy A. McGuire, Augusta, Iowa; three daughters, Mrs. Lou (Patricia L.) Striteskey, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Mrs. Larry (Sylvia J.) Bell, Sacramento, Calif.; Mrs. Michael (Judith A.) Helenthal, Keokuk, Ia.; five sisters, Mrs. Leo J. (Wilma) Koontz, Silverton, Ore.; Mrs. L.D. (Margaret) VanVors, Oakland, Cal.; Mrs. Paul (Rose) Thomas, San Francisco, Calif.; Mrs. Ray (Marie) Koontz, Ames, Iowa; Mrs. J.M. (Gladys) McGoden, Altoona, Iowa; seven grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother Frank Petit.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, November 2, at the Schmidt Memorial Home with the Rev. William Kettlitz officiating. Interment was in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Kenneth Bullis was organist. Pallbearers were Rollow White, Robert Duncan, Larry Saunders, Gerald Troutman, Dean Wolfe, John Helenthal and Joseph Helenthal.
