Mrs. Robert Miller

Mrs. Vernie Belle Miller, 61, of Milton, died Sunday, Oct.11, at 4:30 p.m. at University Hospitals in Iowa City following a short illness.

She was born Aug. 3, 1909, in Nebraska, the daughter of Harry and Alberta Watkins Boekhoff. On May 2, 1928, she married Robert Miller who survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Alberta Holdefer of Anaheim, Calif., Elizabeth Shelley of Memphis, Mo., and LarVon Darnell of Burlington; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one sister, Vivian Rhodus of Ottumwa; and one brother, Leo Boekhoff of Ottumwa.

Services were held Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 2 p.m. at the Milton Christian Church. The Rev. James McKean officiated. Burial was in Sunnyside Cemetery. The body was held at Wellborn Funeral Home in Milton.
