Jay G. Auwaerter

Jay G. Auwaerter, 82, of Donnellson, died Saturday, Sept. 12, at 8:05 p.m. in Graham hospital, Keokuk.

He was born March 4, 1888 in Lee county, the son of Jacob and Sarah Grisold Auwaerter.

He married Margaret Sollars in Donnellson on march 4, 1924. She survives. Mr. Auwaerter was a retired farmer.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Mari Claire Holland of Kenosha, Wisc.; two brothers, William H. Auwaerter of Hamilton, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Fred Krebill of Donnellson; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Delbert of Fort Madison, and one sister, Mrs. John Valkenberg of Montrose.

The funeral service was held Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 10 a.m. in the Miller-Hofbauer Funeral Home, Donnellson. The Rev. William McConnlee officiated. Burial was in Donnell cemetery, Donnellson.
