Mrs. Lena Kaltefleiter

Mrs. Lena Kaltefleiter, 86, of West Point, died Friday, Aug. 14, at 5:10 p.m. in Sacred Heart Hospital, Fort Madison. She had been in ailing health three months.

She was born May 16, 1884 at St. Paul and was a lifelong resident of St. Paul and West Point. She married Henry Kaltefleiter on April 26, 1904 at St. Paul. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church at West Point and its Altar and Rosary Society.

Her husband died 31 years ago.

She was the daughter of the late Henry Menke and Catherine Spexarth Menke.

Surviving are one son, Maurice Kaltefleiter of West Point; one daughter, Mrs. Alonzo Tucker of West Point; two brothers, Herman Menke of Fort Madison and Henry Menke of Aurora, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Dena Jostand of Keokuk; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, one brother and four sisters.

The funeral service was held Monday, Aug. 17, at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic church at West Point with the Rev. Eugene Smith officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, West Point, was in charge. The recitation of the Rosary was Sunday at 3 p.m. by the Altar & Rosary Society and at 8 p.m. by the parish.
