Ralph E. Heaton

Ralph E. Heaton, 69, of Donnellson, died at 0:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, en route to Van Buren county hospital in Keosauqua. Mr. Heaton had been a member of the Lee County Fair board for 2? years.

Born in Big Mound Nov. 27, 1900, to Aaron and Marie Heuckmann Heaton, he married the former Emogene Johnson in Memphis, Mo., Dec. 23, 1922. Mr. Heaton was a life resident of Lee county and was owner-operator of the Donnellson laundromat. He was a member of the Christian church, George Washington Lodge 618 AF & AM (where he was past master); the Davenport consistory Zarethath. A 32nd Degree Mason he was also a past worthy patron of Order of Eastern Star.

Surviving are his wife; one son, Mark Heaton of Farmington; one daughter, Mrs. Dale (Ethel) Prottsman of New London; three sisters, Anna Heaton, Mrs. Alice Huff and Mrs. Margaret Plumer, all of Hillsboro; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 3 at the Miller-Hofbauer funeral home at Donnellson. Rev. Charles McNeely officiated. Burial was in Sharon cemetery.
