Paul Heaton

Paul Heaton, 74, of Bonaparte, died Sunday, May17, at 12:45 a.m. at home. He was in failing health but death was sudden.

The son of Aaron and Marie Sophia Heuckmann Heaton, he was born March 22, 1896 in the Big Mound community of Lee county.

On Feb. 4, 1927 at Fort Madison he married Ethel Denly and she survives.

Mr. Heaton was a carpenter. He was a member of the Christian church, the Bonaparte IOOF lodge and the American Legion. He was a veteran of WW I.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three sisters, Miss Anna Heaton, Mrs. Alice Huff and Mrs. Margaret Plumer, all of Hillsboro; and one brother, Ralph Heaton of Donnellson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.

The funeral service was held Tuesday, May 19 at 2 p.m. in the United Methodist church at Bonaparte with the Rev. Edward Maus officiating. Burial was in the Bonaparte cemetery.

Miller's Home for Funerals at Farmington was in charge of arrangements.
